... to all of the wonderful volunteers who take the time on Christmas Eve morning to visit and converse with the seniors in our community. 

...to Karen Lindsey and Dave Walker of San Marcos-based Avista Technologies, Inc. for funding and lining-up the cut flower grower for this event.  In 2006, they participated with their families and donated 500 roses.  Last year, they graciously gifted 2000 roses.  I was getting calls from volunteers until the last minute.  I kept contacting Karen and Dave the week before, informing them of the rapidly growing volunteer list!  They told me, "Skies the limit!" and would supply any number of roses if I could match the volunteers and facilities. 

...to Bob Echter at Dramm and Echter, Inc. the cut flower grower in Encinitas who supplied and dethorned the beautiful roses.

...to Starbucks and Stater Bros. for supplying coffee and pastries to fuel-up the volunteers before our visit.

...to my parents who showed me the importance of respect for the aged and recognition of the dignity and richness found in the lives of our seniors.  The truth of RFOSF is that our volunteers take just as much from the experience as the seniors we serve.  Our elders have so much life, wisdom, and joy to share with us if we let them.
